Don Lynn Meikle, 42, passed away at the Logan Regional Hospital, Wednesday, September 26, 1990.

He was born on March 16, 1948 in Logan to Don Travis and Marie Stauffer Meikle. He married Evelyn Boyack in the Logan LDS Temple on March 16, 1972. He graduated from Sky View High School and Utah State University with a B.S. degree in Agriculture-Irrigation Engineering. He farmed with his father in Smithfield. Lynn was active in the farming industry, having served on the board of directors of the Cache Valley Dairy, Western Dairymen Cooperative, Utah Dairy Commission and Production Credit Association. He was elected Cache County Farm Bureau President and was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to be a charter member of the National Dairy Board.Lynn was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the National Guard with the 116th Engineering Battalion, Idaho Falls. He fulfilled an LDS mission to London, England and had served in the Bishopric of the Smithfield 7th Ward. He had been Young Men's President, counselor in the Elder's Quorum and Sunday School teacher. For many years he had been active in the Boy Scouts of America.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Travis Lynn; three daughters, Stephanie Lyn, Alesa and Holly, all of Smithfield; also surviving are his parents of Smithfield, two brothers, Brent H. and RaDene Meikle of Farmington, Utah; and Ted S. and Jill Meikle of Crystal, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 1990 at 1 p.m. in the Smithfield Seventh Ward Chapel, 79 East 200 South with Bishop Robert J. Chambers conducting. Friends may call Sunday evening at Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, Logan from 7-9 p.m. and again at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemtery.
