WELLSVILLE, Utah Michael John Leatham, 53, of Logan, returned home to his       Heavenly Father on Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, after a tragic construction accident.

He was born Dec. 2, 1947, in Logan, Utah, the oldest son of John A. and Coy Jensen Leatham. He was raised in Wellsville, attended schools in Wellsville and graduated from Sky View High in 1966. Mike married his sweetheart, Ann Marks, on May 13, 1966. They were blessed with three children and later divorced. Mike spent his early years working side-by-side with his father and grandfather on the family farm which he loved. He worked 12 years for Whites Pipe in Ogden.

Later, he worked many years as a roofer and enjoyed home construction. Recently he was taking classes to become a building inspector. Being an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and camping. He loved horses and enjoyed caring for them. His life dream was to visit Alaska. In March of 2000 that dream was fulfilled. His nephew Andrew was chosen to participate in the World Special Olympics in Anchorage. Mike accompanied his brother, Brent, and nephew to Alaska. Mike was easy to like and had good friends in all walks of life. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Mike is survived by two daughters, Sophie Ann Saltern and Kimberly Cox Waite, Ogden; his father, John A. Leatham, Wellsville; two sisters, Sharon and Dale McBride, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Diane and Danny Nielsen , Wellsville; two brothers, Stephen and Meridith Leatham, North Ogden; Brent and Kaelyn Leatham, Logan, his grandchildren, Vanessa, Zane, Trevor, Hayden and Faith; his special friend, Barbara Humphreys and her son Jason. He was preceded in death by his mother, Coy and his son, Michael Jr.
